Library
The Walker Public Library was established in 1900, and a Carnegie Library was built at 207 4th Street in 1910 to house the collection. We joined the Kitchigami Regional Library System in 1969 to better serve our patrons. The Carnegie building was destroyed by fire in 1976, and a new building was erected on the same site in 1979. In 2020, the second building was torn down. In September 2024, the new Dale & Harriet Jones Walker Public Library opened at 203 Tower Avenue West.

Friends of the Library
Friends of the library are non-profit groups that support libraries in the community.
Friends are separate from KRLS and each group is made up of volunteers.

The Walker Library Board meets the third Tuesday of the month at 5:00pm in the library meeting room.
