Area Library

The first library in Park Rapids was established c. 1900 on the second floor of the fire hall, and was organized and conducted under the provisions of the laws regulating village libraries in Minnesota. A Carnegie Library was built in 1908. Park Rapids joined Kitchigami Regional Library System in 1989, and moved to its current location in 1994.

The Friends of the Park Rapids Area Library

Friends of the library are non-profit groups that support libraries in the community.

Friends are separate from KRLS and each group is made up of volunteers.
