Join Minnesota Book Award-winning author Laura Purdie Salas for this interactive book celebration of our Minnesota State Bird. Laura will share portions of her two books about loons: "Finding Family: The Duckling Raised by Loons" & "Secrets of the Loon".

Event will be at the Green Island Preserve & Retreat where you will join the author on a "Story Stroll" through its beautiful trail system.

Attendees take note: Bathroom break is recommended before arriving since there are no public restrooms.  The Preserve has some environmental awareness and citizenship rules to abide by choosing a sustainable alternative to plastic drinks instead bringing decanters, large thermos, or as an alternative bring family refreshments in reusable packaging.  No garbage cans at park. 

If there is inclement weather event will be moved to the Wadena City Library inside.
