The Bemidji Public Library and the Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education Present Minnesota Geography Storytime

Are you looking for a great way to spend your morning on a day off from school on November 10? Want to learn more about the history and geography of Minnesota? Join Janet Rith-Najarian and get ready for National Geography Awareness Week at the Bemidji Public Library, on Friday, November 10, from 10-12 at the library, 509 America Avenue, Bemidji.

Janet Rith-Najarian, a teacher-consultant from the Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education, will present an exciting, educational program about Minnesota and its geography on Friday, November 10 10:00 a.m. to noon. We’ll start with a few story books about the geography of Minnesota, then venture onto a giant National Geographic floor map to explore the base layer of the map, then add “geo data layers” using samples of soils, rocks, and models of vegetation, birds, mammals, and agriculture. This free activity is perfect for elementary and middle school students. Make sure to join us on November 10th for this fantastic event at the library.

The Bemidji Public Library is committed to providing our community with information resources and services. The library is open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The library offers a variety of services, including WIFI, fax, printing, copying, and a legal kiosk.
