The Bemidji Public Library is excited to welcome the League of Women Voters to the library on Friday, July 14 at 3:00 p.m. This exciting, all-ages event will feature a special storytime, information about the new state guidelines for pre-registering to vote for sixteen and seventeen yearolds, and a discussion on the importance of community involvement with local elections. Join us at the library, 509 America Avenue, Bemidji, for this free and fun family-friendly event where you will also have the chance to vote on your choice for our library mascot!
This engaging event will feature Michelle Witte, Executive Director for the League of Women Voters of Minnesota and Sam Streukens, Civic Engagement Director. Join us for a special children’s storytime, and learn about new voter laws in Minnesota that allow 16- and 17-year-olds to pre-register to vote in anticipation of their 18th birthday. Streukens will also distribute "I Will Vote" buttons and "Voting Violet" bookmarks, symbolising the organization's commitment to promoting civic participation and encouraging everyone to exercise their right to vote. This inclusive event is open to all ages and offers an excellent opportunity for community members to learn about the electoral process and engage with the League of Women Voters. Join us at the library, Friday, July 14 for this free event.
